The 9th of May marked my little sister's sixteenth birthday. To celebrate, the family went out to dinner at McCormick's Seafood. This special occasion was yet another reminder of how lucky I am to have two amazing and beautiful sisters in my life, even as crazy as they are sometimes. The scary part???
At 16, Breanna is now officially a licensed driver... and she can't wait to get out on the road.
Just a reminder to all of us out there, BE CAREFUL, and watch out for this girl
behind the wheel!

After dinner, Breanna Banana made her way through two desserts and then the family went to check out Dave and Buster's for a few games. Even Mom showed off her basketball skills to the world, and Breanna and Travis had a basketball showdown... Unfortunately for them,  in the end it was obvious who the real champion was....

30 Year Old Daddy

Travis turned 30 on Friday. After work, I surprised him with a reservation at Crush 29 in Roseville and told him that we were going to be finding out if our little Blueberry (apparently now 5 1/2 inches from head to 'rump' and definitely no longer the size of a blueberry) is a boy or girl. We were both super excited and could hardly wait for our appointment the following afternoon, although we both 'knew' that we were having a boy. After dinner we headed home where Travis discovered his present... the Tempurpedic bed he had been dreaming of for...well... years (really).  And the next morning, another surprise... massages!
We made it to our appointment early (of course) and had to wait for a little while before being taken back for our ultrasound. The baby was in an awkward position and very modest so it took a little while to get a good look, but after searching for 'the goods' for several minutes and not being able to find them, the realization came that we are having a little GIRL!!! While I was beaming with excitement, Travis looked like he was about to pass out with this discovery... He came around a few minutes later, but it became obvious that he was already nervous about his little girl's first date, the idea of her going out with friends by herself, and the prospect of child molesters... oh my!
After lunch we stopped by Babies R Us to shop. Travis had lightened up a little by this time, and we both had fun looking at all the cute little girls clothing. Travis picked out a few outfits for the baby (he apparently likes pink!).

We are both excited to be able to call our baby by her name now... Aislinn!

VDub Baby Shower Fun

To Travis' excitement, this last weekend was our SECOND co-ed baby shower of the year! We celebrated the VDubs as they await their baby girl, "L".  Travis' ability to waddle with a water balloon between his legs won us a Panera giftcard and lots of laughs :)

Oh Baby!

Warning: The following may not be appropriate for small children, adults, animals, the elderly, etc... SCARY!!!

16 weeks and GROWING!

At 16 weeks pregnant I have gained 8 lbs and have officially embraced maternity clothing! While I am struggling with the many changes in my body, I am happy to say that our pregnancy continues to move forward without complications! Today Travis and I met our physician in Roseville, who will most likely be delivering our baby in 5 short months, and everything looked great. I love listening to the little heartbeat and I can't wait to find out in a few weeks if our little baby is a boy or girl.

Also today, my favorite little man underwent an endoscopy to see if there any cause for his continued projectile vomiting. The procedure went well and biopsies are pending. My brother-in-law took a few pictures of the little guy:

Moving on...

Last weekend Travis and I said goodbye to our first home together. Over 2 years ago, we made the move away from our family homes in Roseville to the 800 J Lofts in downtown Sacramento. While we are excited to move forward (and to have more space!) we will never forget the many memories that we made in our little 772 sq ft, one bedroom, one bathroom loft. We say goodbye to the kitchen where Travis proposed (romantic, right?), the living room where we set up our miniature Christmas tree when we celebrated our first Christmas as a married couple, and most of all, I think we'll miss our favorite neighbors of all time, the V-Dubs, and all the good times we shared with them!

The Blueberry

Our first Ultrasound was done at 9 weeks. Apparently the blueberry was hiding, because our NP was unable to get a good picture of the little guy or girl! She invited us back at 11 weeks to give it another try, and although Travis was unable to come to the appointment with me, I was able to get a short video clip... A little hello from baby to Daddy :) Baby's little squirming in the first few seconds makes my heart melt! I have never seen anything so cute in my entire life!

Here's the clip:

Expecting....

The waiting for our little blueberry has begun! Pregnancy has been a positive experience thus far. I have yet to vomit and my first trimester was uneventful... which I consider a good thing! My biggest complaint up to this point has been fatigue (it's amazing how much energy it takes to make something so small!) ...but now entering my second trimester, I am feeling more energetic and more excited than ever before. It helps to have an amazing husband who is here to support me and to love us (and to do the many chores I don't feel like doing these days!).  The hubby and I can't wait for October to welcome our little bundle of Joy! October can't come soon enough!
